Senior was a winner only because he was aggressive. Since Jr is not that aggressive what makes you think he will ever be a great driver? Would Sr ever win a champioship if he were a young upstart today with all of the rules against aggressive driving?

All of the drivers are aggressive at one point. Jr is normally a calm driver but he does have his moments when he'll bump you outta the way, for example...how he did Carl Edwards at Michigan. Granted he wasn't trying to wreck carl on purpose but he still did knock Carl outta the way. But let a driver like Tony Stewart so much as bump a driver and he's getting sent into Mike Helton's office for punishment.

And besides, Jr has said time and time and time again that he doesn't want to be his father. Jr is a great driver...he doesn't have to be Dale Sr to prove so.

And I do think that Dale Sr would win championships if he was a upstart in Nascar today. Dale Sr is by far one of the top 3 most talented drivers in Nascar history!

All the drivers let the 'aggression' the best of them at one time or another. Dale Jr. shows alot more 'class' than his 'bully' Dad who just shoved everyone out of the way as if he was driving a 200 MPH bulldozer. The Busch Brothers have been very aggressive and making others 'pay' for their mistakes. Robby Gordon and Boris Said have so much talent, but drive like total idots just 'throwing away' race after race. Wasn't too long ago Bobby Labonte would hop out of the car wanting to fight everyone. I guess the TV aggressive race fight ratings date back to the 1979 Daytona 500 with the fight of Donnie & Bobby Allison vs. Cale Yarborough.

I think that there are some good non-agressive drivers out there. Like Matt Kenseth, Mark Martin, and some others. BUT I do think that Sr. would have won some championships if he weren't so agressive, but would he have had that intimidating presence? I don't think so. Dale Jr doesn't need to run people over, nor does he need his dad's reputation. He needs to carve his own path and only then will he win his championships. Next year will be his year.

JR is aggresive when he is aloud to be. He would have much more wins and probably at least 1 championship, would be first in points this year as well, if he was aloud to drive like SR did. If he did that today, he would be black flagged in a second. It's a bunch of BS. Let them race !!!

I THINK YOU'VE GOT THIS ONE ALL WRONG. JR IS A VERY AGGRESSIVE DRIVER. THE CURRENT CLIMATE IN NASCAR DOES NOT ALLOW HIM TO DO THE THINGS HE DID IN THE BUSCH SERIES. HE WOULD RUN OVER YOU IN A SECOND BACK THEN. AS FOR SR., HE WOULD STILL BE COMPETING IF HE WERE ALIVE TODAY. MARK MARTIN IS IN THIRD IN THE CHASE, AND DALE WAS TWICE THE DRIVER MARK MARTING EVER THOUGHT ABOUT BEING. BESIDES, THERE ARE STILL DRIVERS THAT GET AWAY WITH ROUGH-DRIVING. IT SEEMS LIKE GORDON, KENSETH, JOHNSON AND NEWMAN GET AWAY WITH WHATEVER THEY WANT. LET TONY STEWART SO MUCH AS BREATHE ON SOMEBODY WRONG, AND IT'S TO THE PHONE BOOTH HE GOES.

Your thinking is warped. Sr and Jr are two different individuals, two different era's.
Yes Sr would win a championship today because he was a smart and talented racer. He would have adjusted to the nanny NASCAR rules today.

i believe he could finally have had a huge following in simple terms because of the fact his way and elegance and honesty are so fresh yet there isn't any question yet what he's the anointed toddler in NASCAR. yet he has dealt with this anointed one image or mantle that has been located on him okay. He would not communicate sick of absolutely everyone. once you pay attention him in the course of the race speaking along with his group he's often valuable. whilst he's in charge for a concern he accepts it and would not grouse. it quite is clean he has been raised top and takes to heart that he has a voice which would be listened to. i don't think of he over makes use of who he's or over performs the anointed one place. and that i believe he could shed it if he ought to. yet he can not. So he does the appropriate he can to be himself, be genuine to himself, and hopes the racing international will sometime credit him for what he himself has executed and not in basic terms be in the back of him because of the fact he's "Junior". i like the greater youthful guy. he's not my well-known driving force yet I do relish whilst he's interviewed listening to him. He seems to have a exceptional outlook. Given all of the bags he includes, i come across that slightly magnificent.

Dale Senior was the old breed of driver. Not only did he drive cars he knew how to build them.Junior and most of the drivers today do not know how to build a car from the ground up.
