We're talking this year, right? Arcade Fire put out "Funeral" in 2004, Broken Social Scene put out their self-titled last year...c'mon people...get with the program.

Anyway, my fav's from this year include Tool "10,000 Days", Thom Yorke "The Eraser", Gnarls Barkley "St. Elsewhere", Belle & Sebastian "The Life Pursuit", Scott Walker "The Drift", and if I had to choose an absolute favorite out of those, it's between Tool and Thom Yorke.

Pet Shop Boys - Fundamental. After more than 2 decades they managed to make one of their best ever albums (only Very is better in my opionion). Produced by Trevor Horn (of Frankie Goes To Hollywood fame), back to the 80s soudn while sounding very now. Great lyrics too.

Muse and Beck are definitely highlights... however i think you need to check the date on your copy of Funeral... it was recorded in 2004 and released February 2005 in the UK - so it;s been out a good 18 months even in the UK...

I loved Muse's new album, Black holes and revelations that is one of the best. Also Evanescense's new album was another favourite of mine. The thing is this year i have tended to buy older album, so i am havent got many new ones. lol
