Are you lonely and starving for attention? What is your home life like? It must be pretty pathetic if these are the kinds of questions you come up with. Democrats do not oppose civil rights. Oh, I'm sure that some do but, you cannot generalize.
Your questions would be much more interesting if you had some material to back them up with.

All these Democrat posers need a serious history lesson...
Since Abraham Lincoln, Republicans have been there for blacks when it counted. Nevertheless, Democrats invariably take all the credit for the success of the civil rights movement and invariably fail to give any credit to Republicans.
As a matter of fact, the record shows that since 1933 Republicans had a more positive record on civil rights than the Democrats. In the 26 major civil rights votes after 1933, a majority of Democrats opposed civil rights legislation in over 80 percent of the votes. By contrast, the Republican majority favored civil rights in over 96 percent of the votes. (IT'S ALL PUBLIC RECORD - LOOK IT UP!!)
JFK evolved into a true believer in the civil rights movement when it became such an overwhelming historical and moral imperative that he had no choice. As a matter of record, when Kennedy was a senator from Massachusetts, he had an opportunity to vote on the 1957 Civil Rights Act pushed by Senate Majority Leader Lyndon Johnson. Instead, he voted to send it to the conservative Senate Judiciary Committee, where it would have been pigeonholed.
The 1964 Civil Rights Act
--The House passed the legislation on February 10, 1964. Of the 420 members who voted, 290 supported the civil rights bill and 130 opposed it. Among the opposition: 34 Republicans and 96 Democrats (mostly Southern Jim Crowe Democrats). Almost DOUBLE the Democrats voted against the Civil Right Act.
--Senate voted by a 73 to 27 margin to adopt the bipartisan Civil Rights substitute worked out by Senator Dirksen. Six Republicans and 21 Democrats held firm and voted against passage of the bill. Almost FOUR TIMES as many Democrats voted against the Civil Right Bill.
Democratic Senator Bob Kerry maintained that all the Dixiecrats became Republicans shortly after passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, another big lie. Richard Russell, Mendell Rivers, Clinton's mentor William Fulbright, Robert Byrd, Fritz Hollings and Al Gore Sr. remained Democrats till their dying day.
Most of the Dixiecrats did not become Republicans. They created the Dixiecrats and then, when the civil rights movement succeeded, they returned to the Democratic fold. It was not till much later, with a new, younger breed of Southerner and the thousands of Northerners moving into the South, that Republicans began to make gains.
President Bush has further strengthened that forgotten history and increased Republican committment to support of minorities, especiallys African Americans. Minority home ownership, through initiatives created by President Bush, is at an ALL TIME high! Like it or not, Faith Based Initiatives, to allow faith-base organizations to compete for government grants support African American communities and churches far more than any other race.
Democrats like their self proclaimed hero status of the black man, poining to the evil Republicans as the "rich white man" keeping them down. It's just another example of the Democrats rewriting history!

ARE YOU HIGH? First of all, the civil rights act was supported by Democrats even when Democratic officials knew it was an unpopular topic during the 60's. Secondly, Democrats are not the ones trying to do away with affirmative action, habeas corpus, or political dissent.
Get the facts straight.

Because both the Domocans and Rebublicrats are nothing more than the puppets of the Conspiracy.
Elected officials are nothing more than the cardboard cutouts held up so we an throw tomatoes at them, and feel we've accomplished something, that way we don't actually do anything, or interfere with our true owners.

Keep asking this kind of question. You'll ensure a democratic victory because no one will want to vote for a party you're affiliated with.

If asking stupid questions like this is how you get your kicks, I feel sorry for you.
If you are asking these questions seriously, I feel sorry for the state of this country.
Here's my question - Why can't people asking question in the politics sections of yahoo answers ask serious questions instead of name calling and idiotic silliness.
That was more of an answer than your question deserved.
