OK, I've had the IUD for eight months and have been on Paxil for about three months. I'm having some of the following CRAZY side effects, wondering if I was the only one:

- Loss of Appetite : Feel hungry, yet no food sounds good and have to force myself to eat. I stared at an ice cream sandwhich the other night wanting to eat it, but couldn't!

- Crazy Dreams: I've always had really realistic dreams but lately it seems to be exacerbated by the medication... I keep dreaming about the end of the world!!! Maybe I should just stop watching the History Channel at night...

- Extreme "willingness" for ummm... nocturnal activities??? -- Alright, I'll say it, I'm horny ALL THE TIME! I try not to be... try not to think about it... but my hormones seem to be ALL crazy...

Anyone else??? Thanks for your input!!!

These are the common side effects of Paxil:

headache;
sleepiness or insomnia;
weakness;
nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation;
decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm;
dry mouth;
tremor, nervousness, anxiety trouble concentrating; or
changes in appetite or weight

I havent been on Paxil but I was on Zoloft and the only side effect I experienced was dry mouth and vivid dreams

I Currently have the IUD and I to have a high sex drive since I have been on it. Seems like I need it want it atleast 1x a day. However the hormone in it shouldnt be causing it! So you may be jsut coming down with something or your body might be stuck on pre ovulation stage which Is my only thought on the high sex drive bc naturally your drive increases rite b4 ovulations "nature" designed it that way

I have had Mirena since May 2009. I have had NO problems with it. Yes, I spotted the first couple months I had it but by August it stopped completely. Every once in awhile I may get some blood when wiping, but not a lot or cause for concern. And that's maybe once every 3-4 months...if that often, even. I have not had any weight gain, or break outs, or terrible cramps or anything. Don't have it removed unless it causes YOU problems. And a lot of the complaints could have nothing to do with Mirena and be from something else, but they think it's cuz of Mirena.
