MCMLXXVI

2006-10-18 05:01:11 · answer #1 · answered by Kristen H 6 · 2 0

I was born in 1971, so my birth year would be MCMLXXI.

M=1000
C=100

When a smaller value Roman numeral comes before a larger one, the smaller value is subtracted from the larger one, so CM=900 because the smaller value (100) is subtracted from the larger one (1000).

L=50
X=10
I=1

So my birth year MCMLXXI can be figured our as 1000 + 900 + 50 + 20 + 1 = 1971!

I hope this helps!
