It depends! I've lived in LA, NYC and Dallas... It can get very hot like it has been for the last few months or cold... They joke about the two seasons Hot and Cold... However, we've not had a really cold winter so the insects didn't die out so to speak...

That would be the heat. In Dallas, expect summer temperatures to hover around 100 for the high for a couple of months. And there are insects of all types, but that is minor compared with the heat. Traffic is better, although it is still a big city and depending on where you work you can spend an hour or so commuting, but probably less than LA.

I don't recall L.A. having many insects....but Dallas has mosquito's that will carry you off and eat you if you are not careful...
