If you want to pay for such a service, you might consider using "Usenet", And if you are looking for a free alternative to Limwire, then download a program called "Cabos". Its simpler to use than Limewire, and it is completely Free. Also you dont need to register.

Kazaalite is good. No spyware or adware.
If you want something legal, use Ruckus. My college uses that.
