If you can prove your wedding vows stating that you either vowed to forsake all others or something along that line, AND can prove that someone has cheated then yes you can take it to court. My ex father in law was able to get his wife for breech of contract, they don't really have adultry laws anymore, but the breech of contract is a loop hole that a lawyer can use in the divorce hearing. He won a settlement from her and his best "reward" was that it was legally documented as a breech. I think in todays society, there should be laws and punishments instead of loop holes and settlements. Punishments could range from having to pay for the counseling a person may need, dr bills to clear up any std's if its curable and if its something that can't be cured, any medical bills should be reimbursed. If someone passes on AIDS, I think it should be tried as a murder case. Go back to branding ppl like they used to.

If you are in the military, Adultry is a big deal. The person who did wrong can lose money, rank and even do some jail time.

Adultery was taken off the books in most states over 15 years ago. Its not considered a crime. Same goes for "loitering".

Although I see you're from GA. Some laws are still pretty archaic down there. So maybe it's on the books there. Good luck. You seem like a pretty nice person and it's a shame he doesn't see that quality.

keep in mind...its his loss if you walk.

Adultery is grounds for divorce in most places. But if you have sex with the adultering spouse AFTER you find out... it is legally considered forgiveness, so there's no recourse. I don't believe there is legal punishment that is still imposed... and I don't think there should be. Its a personal issue between a couple,... has nothing to do with breaking any laws against society as a whole.

In some states I do believe there is laws on it. And in some cases you could be tried for it, but really these days it only comes into play when a divorce is taking place. But if you get married, you should be faithful, or if your doing this with someone that is married, they should be faithful. They don't say the wedding vows for nothing.

Depends on the country.

In nearly every country in the world there are no laws at all other than that it gives the "wronged" party legal grounds for divorce.

In a few Islamic states it is illegal and punnishable by fines or jail. Before the Coalition invasion, Talliban-controlled Afganistan had the death penalty for adultery, with the vast majority of those executed under this law being women.

Iran, I believe, also has the death penalty on the books for adultery but it is hardly ever actually imposed.

Adultery is grounds for a justifiable divorce. The laws alternate depending on the state you live, but most commonly depending on the hard evidence you have; you'll come out a free woman to find a good man and get the house and kids. Good luck.
