i just sold a psp on ebay, and the person who bought it has a U.S. address but they have asked me to send it to west africa and give them my bank details so they can pay me. i told them (in no uncertain terms) that i think they are trying to scam me, and they wrote back saying that they were disappointed that i would think that as they have 3 good feedbacks on ebay. they said that if i send them my home address then they would mail the payment to me from the usa. i told them to [get lost]. also the emails i received are spelled really badly, and they say "i am not scammer, am good and desent girl" yeah right. what do you think?

It's a scam. Report them to eBay but don't expect a decent answer back from them!!!!

These people are idiots. I nearly bought a Jag off a scammer last week, but only smealt a rat because 1. They could not spell, and 2. They then sent me a fake email supposedly from Ebay. The grammer was so bad that it was obvioulsy false. If the writing had been done properly on the two documents I might just have been taken in.

I would report them to ebay straight away as suspicious and do not send any details about yourself or anything. this happened to me. the 3 feedback items will be from other scammers that all leave feedback for each other to look more credible (check the other 3 feedbacks and they probably are all to each other)

if you think they may be genuine- ask them to pay by cheque or paypal- theres no reason that they cant do this! they definitely do not need your bank details. if you do receive the money then you can send the item.

Definite scam or something shady involved. No one on ebay needs your bank information to pay you. Why can't she just use paypal? Do the second chance auction thing. Where something happened with the winning bid and now you'll offer it to someone else who already thinks they lost the auction. Someone who is decent and really wants the PSP. Good luck. And remember never never give your personal information out to someone you don't know, even if it is your address. But especially your bank account info.

Yes this is definitely a scam, I have had similar before. Another way they do it is by sending you fake pay pal emails that look authentic. These emails say they have paid the amount for your item and say that the transaction will be complated once you send details of shipping. It is big money in places like Nigeria where they buy electronic items, (such as your PSP) fraudulently and then sell them on to fund major crime.

My friend is a police officer and they have numerous reports of these types of scams. If you look on ebay lots of sellers refuse to ship to Africa and South America due to scams.

Go with your gut instinct. Anyway PSP is a lot cheaper in USA brand new than what you can get them off ebay for

Sounds like a genuine, conscientious ebayer to me. No hint of a scam there whatsoever. You can usually tell if you are being scammed, because they do things like:

- Ask for your bank details

- Get you to send the product to a different country

- Get themselves a few good feedbacks before ripping somebody off

- Speel reely bodly whilst claiming to be a "desent girl".

Nah, i'd say you were completely safe, and should send all of your details to them (and me) immediately.

Don't give any bank details and contact ebay ASAP as they're on the watch for these sort of scams. You could send an email to spoof@ebay.co.uk

Of course it's a scam. I am continually amazed at all the ways and venues these Nigerians try to scam the same way. They could at least find someone who could spell. But its big business there and they wouldnt be doing it if SOMEBODY wasnt falling for it. Imagine if it was an old lady or something.

Giving your address is fine but bank details forget it, it may be genuine., but if they really are real they will not mind sending you a payment throught he post, i agree report to ebay....also anyone can get feedback score....i could get 3 through my friends just to make myself look good...

P.s Look out for emails claiming to be from ebay, there are loads of fakes and they can hack your ebay account, its happened to me twice....Just be careful what details u have stored in your ebay account..

Scam, report them to ebay cos it's against there rules to get it sent to a different address than the one that they registered, its so they can report scammers to the police if necessary
