the police should be able to track the plate down so you can file against their insurance. Also make sure (if you haven't already) to give the plate # to your insurance company... they have investigators that should be able to track the person down. They'll pay the money for the investigator so they don't have to pay the claim.

the police should be able to track the person and give him a ticket for hit and run or fleeing the scene of an accident or whatever they choose to charge him with. Call the police and make sure they stay on the case and let them know you want to press charges against the hit and runner. His insurance company or himself should pay for the damages to your vehicle. Good luck!!!

You need to take it to a body shop and have an estimate written to repair it. Even seeming minor damage to the untrained eye can have huge costs to repair. Don't worry about the ones calling you a complainer it is not their car. Remember a retail store will call the cops on you for a stolen candy bar you could have several hundred dollars damage and you are entitled to have the guilty party or their ins. co. pay for it.

The exact same thing happened to me last year. The police were able to track down the driver of the car and her insurance paid for everything. Thank goodness someone took down the license plate number for you, otherwise you would have been **** out of luck.

You'll have to wait for the police to get back to you on that. Sorry! The police might not release the name of the person to you but will prob tell the insurance company who to go after. Until then you can't do too much!

You can file a Hit and Run with the Police and let them deal it. Other than that, make sure that his insurance company pays for and not yours. That way his premiums will go up not yours.

So you filed a police report and....
that's about all you can do for "legal" retribution.
However, I'm sure LOTS of people on here can give you ALL SORTS OF IDEAS about OTHER types of RETRIBUTION!
Wheee! I'd go to TOWN with this one! The Full Monty, as it were! Hezbollah on their ace, as it were! GIT R DONE as it were!

If they are going to be paying for it - then you can just let it go. They were trying to get away with it and they didn't, so that should be retribution enough
