Don't even mention anything sexy. She's got "that time" goin on, and she won't have anything to do with it! Believe me!
My whole plan was ruined! I had a bed & breakfast suite for a night and then horseback riding in the smoky mountains on Sunday. Gone! Had to cancel. Fortunately, she didn't know about my plan. Now, I don't know what to do. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Try a dozen roses and a nice dinner out. Tell her how much you love her.

Several people have asked this question is the past, and I always answer because I've been in your situation more times than I care to remember.

Anyway back to the question. Here is what I would do.

Dinner at home.
Flowers on the table.
Birthday card.
Movie after dinner.

1. Dinner. If you dont cook dont worry. Go to the grocery store or Costco and buy a semi prepared meal that can be put in the oven and heated. Vegetables. Buy a bag of frozen mixed vegetables, and heat them in the microwave. Maximum costs 15.00

2. Flowers. Get them at the grocery store, not the flower shop.
Maximum costs 12.00

3. B-day card. 5.00

4. Get a movie from the rental store, for after dinner. Make it something that she would like, even if you hate it. 5.00

Doing this at home will show that you put effort into her birthday, even though you didnt have alot of money.

Good luck.

Make her a nice romantic dinner something that you do not have on a regular basis, DO THE DISHES after, Get the kids to bed yourself while she relaxes on the couch sipping a glass of wine or champagne. Rub her feet, back, or shoulders. Draw her a mango and papaya (my fav) bubble bath, light some candles in the bathroom and turn off the lights. Just let her relax in the tub for as long as she wants. When she is ready to get out, have a warm out of the dryer towel waiting on her and her favorite Pajamas and slippers. Snuggle in bed together and don't even let her think you are thinking about sex. Kiss her on the cheek, tell her you love her, and good night, leave it at that. It will make her feel great.

My brother-in-law and his wife are struggling finacially right now and he had to come up with something great for his wife on a $20/budget.

He bought 5 or 6 white boxes at the dollar store and put red paper that he shredded in each box along with a portion of a poem he had written her. He hid them through out the house... when she woke up in the morning, she found the first box by her pillow :) through out the day he sent her email's from work and sent her flowers that had clues on them. Once she found all of the boxes, she was able to put the poem together.... so romantic! :) When he got home, he made her a nice dinner.

It's not how much you spend. You could spend thousands on something that she might like, but if you do something like what my brother-in-law did, you'll show her how much she is loved and appreciated....she will never forget it.

Good Luck!

well it was a great plan, so you could afford that, why not get her a nice, small ring, or a pair of earings? They are *NOT* taht expensive, at walmart you can get some as cheap as 19.99 to 99, and that with a small dinner in then a movie out would be really nice and romantic. Pepper it with TONS of romance. Hand holding, kisses, and a back rub will show her that sex isnt the only thing that ias important to you and will make her feel special.

Just use what you have. A nice quiet candlelight picnic in the living room floor. Make her a simple dinner, but make it elegant by using your finest china and use wine glasses for your drinks. It would be very romantic. How old is she going to be? Give her that many reasons why you love her and things you like about her. Take the night to stroll down memory lane, remember why you fell in love. It is always nice to think of a first date or a first kiss. I hope this helps. I would sure love it.

its simple

1) go pick some flowers ( most u can afford)
2) go to the grocery store and get some eggs, bacon, cheese, croissants, jam, nutella, orange juice, bagels, etc.
3) get up real early in the morning, arange the flowers. Make a good breakfast.
4)get her a birthday card.

spend time with this, make it look right. It has to look like you spent alot of time on this, not just a 15 second microwave prepared, heres your card, happy birthday, etc.

clear you day out for her and on ly her

if she rejects this and expects something more materialistic like a diamond, watch, etc. then i dont know what to do.

Make a day of little things.... breakfast in bed, a picnic in the park or by a lake,.... make her favorite dinner, watch her favorite movie..... dance with her in the living room with the lights turned off.... you don't need to end up having sex to give her a little romance. Little things can mean a whole lot more than something extravagant.

If you can give her a "coupon" (that you make yourself) for the weekend you had planned, to be used at a later date. Put it in a card you spend some time picking out. And that is a very nice gift by the way. Hopefully you chose a partner that is practical.

Good Luck.

Peace.

I would make the day a special day for her - does she like to do anything in particular ie visit museums, shopping malls,
You provide a romantic meal at home complete with flowers, candles, wine and YOU do the cooking and save the dishes until the morning, sometimes stopping to clean up kills the mood. But you do them inthe morning, dont save them for her.
have fun, be creative

Fix her a nice dinner at home. Rent a movie that she's been wanting to watch, even if you think it's a chick flick and you don't want to see it. Give her a foot massage with no expectations of anything in return. Just pamper her, it's her day and do whatever you think that she would like to make her feel special.
