Yeah, and ban any and all sports while you're at it. There's no way to protect someone from any and all injuries. You live and learn, dang it!
But you have to understand, there a re people out there just waiting for the slightest thing to happen so they can sue for a couple billion and have a good life at the expense of someone else.

Don't blame the school - blame the sue happy people that are out there!
Have you seen the cost of liability insurance? Schools have to have it to function legally, and they can hardly afford the insurance. And then little Johnny or Jane gets hurt being a kid, and SMACK! - Mom and dad are sueing the school because their kid was playing tag, fell because Jimmy pushed them when he tagged the kid, and so the school is negligent! The school should have to pay all of the medical bills, as well as little Johnny's (or Jane's) "pain and suffering"! And then the parents had to miss work due to the injury, so there is more money the lawyers are going to try and collect. . .
I think parents need to take responsibility for their children, and I think that a part of growing up is a kid getting hurt! Hell, if my parents sued someone everytime I got hurt as a kid, I would be a very wealthy individual (I was a "tomboy", and very rough and tumble)! Stop going to court each time you see dollar signs at the end of an incident!!!! Yes - there are times where lawsuits are needed, and should be done. But for something as small as a child getting hurt being a kid. . .
Place the blame where it is due. But overall, I agree with you and what you are saying.

Pretty soon physical recess will be nonexistant in our country and we will have a bunch of fat diabetic uncoordinated kids who can barely crawl/walk the 12 minute mile and pass the physical exam in 5th grade. What a future.
LittleTVjunkie: I am Liberal and I think it sucks and it's wrong that dodgeball, tag and contact games are being banned from schools. The decision to ban contact sports has nothing to do with voting parties or liberal thinking you dumb@ss. It has to do with whimpy parents and greedy lawsuits.

It all started when that old lady spilled hot coffee on herself and sued McDonald's.Shaking hands is probably way more dangerous than playing tag,so if you have a cold, watch out when you shake hands with someone.YOU could be the target of the next ridiculous lawsuit...

There is a lot wrong with this picture. They are systematically weakening the youth of America. Parents need to wake up and see what they have created.

they banned TAG!?!?! Seriously?
When I was in school we weren't allowed to play tackle british bulldogs, tackle football, and definitely not red rover.
This was after one kid broke his collar bone on the first day of school. After that it had to be "two hand touch", and now they're afraid that kids will hurt themselves with that?
What are they supposed to do at recess? Just stand in a line?

that is taking it a little overboard. they're denying these kids any type of pain when pain can be a good thing to learn from. people are also sheltering their children so much that they don't get sick. and its actually good for a child's immune system to get sick every once in a while.

You can thank lawyers and their mountains of BS law suits. I am so glad that I am not a kid today, we are raising a generation of kids that will be wimps.
