Seems strange, but you've had several people look at you and they all said it's normal. I mean, I'd worry if it were just my doc, but you had ER docs and nurses, your midwife, and your OB say it is fine. I'm sure if you kept looking, you'd find some doc out there to say it isn't OK, but I don't think you can do better than all those people. I know it's annoying and disconcerting. I bled once or twice because I had a partial previa (the sac was close to the cervix, but not covering.) I passed a couple of clots. Once, I was admitted for a week of partial bed rest. But, you haven't been diagnosed with that and, in fact, when I really bled the one time, the doc said it was probably the mucus plug. So, it sounds like you're just going to have to wait and try to relax, though I know that's not easy.

I don't know that I have any stories to make you feel better but I would imagine that as long as you are not literally gushing blood, everything is normal.
I can tell you this, you have done all the appropriate things. You have gone to the ER. You have seen your midwife. You have evidently communicated with your doctor. I don't know what more you can do.
I would say that the good news is that it sounds like things are going to get going here pretty soon. If you have lost your mucus plug then labor should not be far behind. In fact I am surprised that your water has not broken.
Having said all that if you still have this strong feeling of unrest I would suggest that you call and bug your midwife some more. No one knows your body better than you do and if you have the feeling that something is amiss, insisit that the doctor see you. You are the very best judge of when something is wrong.
If you have a spare moment let me know what happens, I would love to hear from you.
Love and Blessings

Same thing happened to my friend just a few months ago. She got real scared. This was not her first, and this did not happen the first time, so she freaked. She said it was a ton of blood. But she got scans and got sent home too. Dr. said she was fine, nothing wrong with baby. Bleeding stopped. She had slow labor for the next few days. Then had baby. Fine as could be!
I think it happens often. Bleeding right at the end is ok as long as you've been checked. It means labor is soon on it's way. It's the bleeding in the beginning of a pg you don't want.

Everything is ok. I too bled during pregnancy. I actually was at work and I went to the bathroom and freaked when I seen the blood went to dr and was told same thing, it was just my plug, and 12 hours later, here came baby.
Second story.
I was only 30 weeks pregnant and I started bleeding, my doctor checked me out and it was also just my mucus plug, I was scared though.
(Oh my first child was born 9 weeks premature, so I was afraid I was going to go thru that again)
But anyway, I went on for another 6 weeks bleeding here and there, not really bad, but enough to concern me but not my doc, mind you I had the best ( in my opinion) doctor in the world and I trusted him. So after approx 6 weeks of bleeding, I had my second healthy son. Nothing was wrong. The bleeding was just my body's way of preparing for birth.
I truly hope this makes you feel better.
Oh and the cramps could very well be mild contractions mine were, and I just didnt even know.

Yes, that happened with me. Apparently it is normal. I know you are concerned, I was too, because we are always told that bleeding = a problem usually. I had this a day or two before I finally had my baby, and also a day or two the week prior to that. Your doc is right, it is your body getting ready, the crampy feeling is what I had also, for probably a whole day or two, along with the bleeding. So don't worry, although it's hard, it is normal, and there are people other than you who have experienced it.
Congratulations, and good luck with everything!

I lost my plug right before going into labor. That was the only bleeding I experienced. The plug regenerates, so that is mostly likely the source of bleeding close to your due date. The cramping you're feeling is contractions. Sounds like you're just getting really close to delivering! Good luck mama!

I did bleed, but it was more like "spotting" - which the doctor told me was fine, as long as cramps weren't accompanying it and it didn't turn into "more than spotting." (you know, like a heavier flow)
I don't like the sound of what you're going through, I'd be a little worried - just keep checking in with your doctor. This is you and your baby, call as much as you want.

it is very normal to bleed before you go into labor. I bled so much i thought i was dying. as for the cramping it could very well be contractions, everyone feels them differently. yours could just feel similar to cramps. just take it easy and get ready for you new little one. congrats.

if your dr says your okay then go by what they say and not anyone else. if it was a cause for concern you never would have left the hospital and they probably would have induced
