London can be done on a budget. In Earls Court there are loads of B&B's where the Australian Backpackers tend to stay. In Pimlico there are streets and streets of small 2 star type hotels, ditto in Paddington. If you are desperate to be really central then stick to the larger chains because there are some really grotty central hotels which are mainly used for drug dealing and prostitutes and you want to avoid this! Holiday Inn or Thistle websites might be worth a try. Good hotel websites are www.lastminute.com, www.opodo.co.uk and www.expedia.co.uk. For hotel reviews www.tripadvisor.com.

The cheapest hotel located in central london (piccadilly) is the Regent Palace Hotel.

You may want to also consider the Travelodge hotels situated around Kings Cross. These are very cheap and easily accesible for the west end.

I like the Corus Hotel on Hyde Park. It's nice, safe, in a good position, and not too expensive. Try Trip Advisor, you can see where other people have stayed and what they thought of their hotels. Enjoy London!

Have you tried the youth hostels??? I know there is one near Kings Cross which has good travel connections like the big train station Kings Croos and Angel tube station. You can just about get a bus to everywhere in London from one of those two places. go to www.yha.org.uk The hostels are nothing luxurious just plain rooms but at very low prices!
Hope this helps :)

The Holiday Inn (Regents Street) is the hotel I would go for. It is quite cheap, but has nice rooms, and a lovely bar.

Have a fun stay!
