The earth is on an angle of 23 degrees. What that means is that if we think of the north pole as the top of the earth, then the earth is actually leaning on its side a little. Now the moon is always the same distance from the earth. But when the moon is over the USA, the place on earth you are standing on is closer to the moon. But when you are standing on a place in Asia, while the moon is the same distance you are standing on a place of the earth that is further away from the moon then the place you were standing on in America. That is why it looks smaller, because you are standing further away from it in Asia then in America.

The moon is bigger if ur on a higher elevation. Also what season it is. The moon is closer and the sun is farther away during the cold seasons and vice versa during warmer seasons. Right now the US is in fall.. so the moon is closer (larger). In asia its warm, so the sun is closer and the moon is far. So it seems smaller.

Hi Shah C.,
The moon looks larger depending on whether the horizon is flat or hilly, the elevation above sea level and various atmospheric conditions.

Depends where you are, the elevation you are at and the time of evening as to how big the moon appears.
