I don't think so. The greatest thing a man or woman can have is freedom. Freedom to go where they want, when they want to, and with whomever they wish. As the saying goes; "Give me liberty or give me death".

We could build twice the number of prisons but keep the operating budget the same. Of course we'd have to cut back on cell size, loose the sky tv and replace the gym with a chain gang breaking paving slabs. Perhaps that would deter so many people from commiting crime!

In Britain, prisons are holiday camps. There is nowhere else in the country where you are guaranteed food, accommodation, heating, job, education, training, drugs and free Sky TV. The list goes on an on. No wonder people commit crimes to get in them.

Chain gangs doing menial, mind numbingly boring, pointless repetetive tasks, preferably in public, in city centres where we can all see who they are and laugh at them and throw rotten tomatoes and half eaten kebabs and the like. Then take them back to their bare, empty cells without any TV, radio, computer games or home comforts. THAT is how prison should be these days!

Prisons should be squalid, horrible places where inmates are fed poorly, live in cramped and inhuman conditions and are regularly beaten. I think you'd find crime rates reducing somehow.

yeah i agree i think giving people a taste of what they could have is wrong besides why would you want them to miss freedom ....think about it just because they get 1 free day dont mean they will running the streets it be better if you where in jail for along time and they gave you a taste of what you cant have it would make yo a better person because you will want out more and not want to go back .....just because it is diffrent dont mean it is bad
