Faerie doors are gateways between two worlds, and supposedly very hard to locate. They have a tendency to move, and unless you wholeheartedly accept anything odd and all the strange possibilities in the world, you'll never see one even if it's right in front of you.

Fairy doors are doorways to the imagination. If you have no imagination, they are miniature pieces of wood and metal constructed to look like doors. In rural situations, a fairy door, might be a hole in a tree or the ground. If you have a bit (of imagination) then you can pass through and enjoy a world of your own invention... colored by folk lore and mythology.
Fairy doors are meant to be fun.
In my opinion, not to be taken too seriously.
(though imagination should not be dismissed)
