first child came very early she was born at 23 weeks 5 days into her gesational period. She is 13 now. My second child who is 5 months old came as we predicted a month early. My best friend however all 3 of her kids came anywhere between 1 and 2 weeks past their due dates and on two occassions she had to be induced. Don't rush getting that kid out, the longer he/she stays in the higher the odds it will be healthy and that in the long run is all that matters. After all 1 day in utero is 1 week in the NICU

I just had my first child on July 16th.

If you want this child to come out and are hoping for him to do it soon, reading this story might not help you, lol.

My son came two weeks late. He tried coming at 36 weeks and my doctor would not let me have him. He says that he will not deliver a baby (if he can help it) unless they are 38 weeks. Trust me, I will not be going back to him with child 2 whenever that happens. But anyway, he put me on medication that would stop the contractions. I had to do this for two weeks until my 38 week mark when it was 'okay' to have the baby. By then, my son decided that he was comfortable enough to stay for a while longer.

Nothing I did encouraged him to come on out. Nothing. It was driving me crazy cause I knew he was trying to come out before and it would have been perfectly okay. But anyway, he stayed in for an extra two weeks. 42 weeks I was when they finally induced me. And they werent even going to do it then. I had to go in there and pretty much raise hell because my water had been leaking for two days and I was getting tired of it, lol.

But yeah....there's no telling. Hopefully you dont have to wait as long as I did and hopefully you dont have a doctor that will make him gun shy and stay in there.

Congradulations on your pregnancy!

My first child was born on his due date. I went in four days before on a Monday, to be induced. He was born Thursday morning at 2:10 am. He was 7 lb 3 ox and 21 inches long. He is three years old now!
My second child was born 3 weeks before his due date. I had several problems with him. My blood pressure rose too high and they admitted me and about 9:45 pm that Friday night I though my water broke while laying in the hospital bed, but it was massive bleeding. He was born at 10:31 by c-section that night. He was 7 lb 3 oz also and was 19 inches long. He is now 4 months old.
Both are wonderfulyl healthy beautiful boys.
Good luck and patience. They grown up too quick!!!

My daughter was born 2 weeks late (9lbs. 6 oz) and three years later I gave birth to my son 2 1/2 weeks early (10lb 3 oz). Don't even bother trying to guess when the baby will come....you never can tell....

My first one came a day late. I thought the other 2 would be the same. I had to be induced for the other 2. I didn't even have to have an epidural with the first, it was the best. Good LUck!

Both of my kids were 3 weeks early. And huge (over 9 lbs) Every baby & deliver is different though.

One good way to motivate your body to give birth is to have sex. Your orgasm releases hormones as well as the sperm. That is the best thing to do to get labor moving!

Be strong!!! It WILL happen!

I am a Mom of one. She came July 27, 2005 and was due September 9, 2005. Scary?? You betcha!! She's doing wonderful now, except for a few developmental delays such as not holding her bottle yet and just starting to cruise the furniture. My husband I are hoping she will walk soon as she's getting WAY too heavy to carry.

Congrats to you on your babies!
