I disagree with your assessment that we are losing any freedoms or liberties to government because of the War on Terror. I've yet to see any proof that our freedoms or liberties have been reduced. I don't consider being able to have long love-chats with terrorists in Iraq to be a freedom or liberty not subject to scrutiny and eavesdrop.

There is nothing wrong with having a healthy fear for the damage the terrorists can do - God gave us the ability to fear to motivate us to action - the 'fight or flight' response. We (at least SOME of us) have chosen to fight, without giving up any of our rights or freedoms.

If you want a better example of fear leading to horrible government and an encroachment on rights & freedoms, let's look at Social Security, Welfare, smoke-free building laws, minimum wage laws, War on Poverty, War on Drugs, etc. It is these laws and policies that have done the greater damage to our rights and freedoms than the Patriot Act ever could.

I agree 100%....guts and accountability in this nation have gone to ashes in a handbasket.

F.E.A.R. = false evidence appearing real....and all that false evidence is shoved down the throats of the ignorant constantly.

Why do you think there's such a fear of Arabics (or any non white person in general) in this country? It's perpetuated all over the media, it perpetuated in the home.....and people wonder why we're called ignorant Americans so often. Americans by and large, are some of the most ignorant people I've ever met.
