My son was born weighing 11lbs 8 oz and was 23 in long. I saw a show on TV stating that the percentage of high birth weight babies is small but can't remember what the said, I have searched the net and can't find anything on this. I am interested in finding out just how rare it is to have a baby that weighs over 11 pounds.

about 2% it is just as dangerous to the baby for it to be large as it is if it is small
