Hi, I'm Andy. I'm a Yahoo Answers addict. (Hi, Andy.) Yeah, well, I realize that I spend too much time on Yahoo Answers, and I would like to know how to recover from the desire to ask personally relevant questions for personally relevant responses, and to answer other people's questions with my own personal touch. Why do I love Yahoo Answers so much and what can I do to establish more balance in my life with respect to Yahoo Answers?

My work demands that I use the computer always and I love to answer questions and be of help to others. I'm afraid that Yahoo Answers provides a connection to society where people help each other out with personal interest, which resonates very strongly with me. It's a good thing that I'm turning to a helpful, caring community for assistance with the strong desire to help and care for others before I get like a few thousand points or something, or exceed earning 80-100 points in a single week.

b97st,
I spend a lot of time on my answers. My points are earned with a substantial amount of thought, humor, personal touch, and experience.

Well, Andy, I must say that Yahoo Answers is a very healthy (and FREE!) addiction compared to other popular choices, such as video games, smoking, watching reruns on television, or drinking.

What's so different about Yahoo Answers is that it's like talking to friends on your own terms. It's learning on your own terms and being rewarded for it. This might sound nerdy, but I like to go into the categories I DON'T know much about. That way if I see a question I don't know an answer to, I can look it up online and provide and answer, and in the meantime, I'm also learning something new.

Yahoo Answers is simply a healthy pastime. Be proud to have a mind like yours that likes to learn, socialize, help answer questions, and grab some points while you're doing these things ;)

I'm totally addicted too. I wouldn't worry about it too much there are so many worse things that we could be addicted to!
Unless you may get in trouble at work over it or it affects your personal life then I wouldn't worry about it. I mean if your friend asks you to lunch and you decline only to sit and answer questions on yahoo then it's a problem. If not then don't worry!
:)

Stop touching your computer for 3 days. After that, use it in moderate like 3-5 hrs per day and shut it off after that. You are the only one who can get rid of the addiction so good luck.

I'm an addict too. There is no recovering from it except maybe to go cold turkey and unplug your computer.

Turn off the computer and get outside. That's a start.
