Having someone in your life that you are intimate with at night is Gods way of helping us through the days.

oh yeah.

Seriously, the intimacy factor is vital for both man and woman.

But I don't think that was really your question was it?

Can a marriage survive without sex?
I believe so.

If there is simply no sex for no reason, well, there must be something else going on.

Loss of trust, loss of intimacy, loss of time, loss of energy. All these things need and should be addressed and repaired before the normal sexual intimacy can/will resume. I think this sort of happens to everyones marriage at some point, a couple can just go 'out of sink' with each other, but I also believe its cyclical, and with some attention, and patience it all comes around again. (sometimes better than before!)

If for some tragic reason one partner is unable to perform, the very level of commitment that marriage IS should fore go that there is still a marriage without sex.

Would I stay married to someone who was unable to perform? Yes, that is what marriage is.

Would I marry someone who was unable to perform? Hmmmmm. That's a different question. I'm not sure I would, but there would be so many factors involved I'm sure and people do it all the time apparently.

Very much so, yes. It is often commented on that sex is actually very good for us and being able to share that level of intimacy and trust someone completely is very helpful.

For a very long time some people have theorised that poor sex life or lack of communication regarding sex in a relationship can be very destructive to the relationship.

One of the first 'sex manuals' entitled "Married Love" by Dr. Marie Stopes was published in the 1920's and she blamed her marital woes on a sex problems, hence the book.

Is important but is no "all"
Suppose one of them either for sickness or accident won't be able to perform sex...is that the end of marriage?
Love still the most important part of marriage

I used to think not, until my husband and I took a course in marriage through our church.

It is in the sexual act that a husband and wife grow closer, but it's only a component of overall intimacy--there needs to be sharing, respect for one another, and things going well in other areas for bedroom matters to be at their best, which is how God intended it to be.

absolutely...it helps make the bond stronger and the togetherness is very important. Anyone that says no probably is not getting any and is jealous.

I believe so. God made sex feel good so we would pro-create and marraige so we wouldn't go crazy over sex.
