I was wonder how would I go about getting Internet access. Would any phone service work or would I have to get a certain kind? What would be the cheapest phone service and ISP? What is the best?

This isn't a dumb question...but i think cable is the best way to get high speed internet...my ISP is Adelphia. Dial up takes too long.

phone service is an ISP. ISP is Internet Service Provider. If I was you, I would get cable. Dial-up is way too much hassle.

If cost is an issue and you still don't want the slow dial-up. Then go with DSL. Depending on where you live it only cost a small amount more than dial-up. If cost is not and issues cable is the way to go. If you plan on downloading music and games the dial-up will not work well for you. You will want DSL or cable for those.

All you need is a regular house line, nextel, bell, sprint who ever it doesn't matter . Call your phone company and ask them how much it would cost. You can also find free Internet but you have to allow pop ups from their advertisements, i also think you are limited to the amount of hours.

This all depends on where you live. Check out www.dslreports.com for some good info on this. Generally, you can get cheaper DSL prices, but it will be slower than cable. This may not be an issue, also depends on what you plan on doing online....
