whats up Alvin! Ozzie Guillen (former participant) is a supervisor. Ozzie Smith become a participant. in case you do not know what you're speaking approximately, do not communicate! i could take Jeter. i'm a Yankee fan so i'm biased. yet Jeter is surprisingly stable with the two the glove and bat. Ozzie, nicely..he never had a 200 hit season. Jeter have been given over 200 hits 6 cases and over a hundred ninety 9 cases. With a .316 profession avg and the capacity to steal bases, i think of a supervisor can do alot greater with Jeter than Ozzie. This, by utilising no ability of the mind's eye takes something far off from Ozzie. He become a super participant. yet Jeter can teach to be greater effective, extraordinarily once you're down by utilising a run overdue in a game and could desire to get some runners on base.

You've got to go with Ozzie Smith. Without Ozzie, there would be no Derek Jeter. Ozzie paved the way for the new breed of superstar shortstops. Granted, Jeter has better career offensive numbers, but Ozzie is far and away the best defensive shortstop to ever play the game. You take that, along with his 2500-ish hits, 500+ stolen bases and lack of strike outs, I think you take Ozzie every time.

Ozzie Smith was much better than Derek Jeter however Jeter gets tops for being in the postseason ever year he played and Smith only had several seasons in the postseason. However overall I think Jeter is just a bit better but not being a stastical player however Smith was a great enteraintment value and all-star quality.

Ozzie Smith had a career fielding percentage of .978. Derek Jeter's career fielding percentage is .975. While Derek has the edge in arm strength, Ozzie had Jeter beat when it comes to range. Ozzie could get to balls that Jeter cannot get to. When it comes to hitting, Jeter is better. Jeter also has more rings. While you would not go wrong with the Wizard, Jeter is the better overall player.

Ozzie is the best defensive shortstop to ever play the game, but Jeter's offense makes him the better of the two players.

Jeter's career OPS is about 200 points higher than Ozzie's, because Jeter hits more homers in any given year than Ozzie did in a 5-year span. Ozzie had a good eye at the plate, but even his high walk totals can't bring his OBP into the same range as that of Jeter.

I'm not a huge fan of Jeter, but he's had a pretty great career. He's a HOFer, and I definitely put him ahead of Ozzie Smith.

As a Yankee fan, Im going against the grain and saying Ozzie, because he was an absolute terrific athlete on defense and he provided the right mix of offense to help his team. Jeter has been great on both ends of the field, is a postseason killer, and is a leader for the Yanks. But Ozzie is Ozzie; he was one of the elite shortstops of his time and probably idolized by Jete. You cant help but marvel at some of Smith's outstanding defensive gems.

In the field Ozzie was the best shortstop but Jeter has more power at bat. I would pay more to see Ozzie than Derek.

Ozzie made baseball entertaining he was a showman. Jeter is a work horse who does all he can for the good of the team.Ozzie does flips and Derek will dive face first into the seats.

You're comparing apples to oranges. Smith's specialty was defense. Jeter while being solid defensively his specialty is offense. I would pick Jeter simply for the fact that he has been a part of an organization that has won more championships.
