I was reading in the bible where it said in 2 Corinthians 10:20-22 - “I do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons.”
It seems to me that Halloween is "drinking with from the cup of Demons.
Tell me what you think.. Just seems that if the Holiday was originated with pagan traditions, and clearly deals with spiritism, and the bible clearly condemns spiritism in Deuteronomy 18:10-12.
In Oct you celebrate demons, and satan worship, but in Dec you supposedly celebrate Jesus birth?
Give me your thoughts!

First try reading Romans chapter 14. In there Paul tells you what to do when dealing with gray areas (a gray area is something that is not expressly forbidden nor expressly allowed by the Bible).

If you think that by celebrating Halloween, you are encouraging sin, or even giving other people the impression that you are practicing sin, then you should not do it. If you are in doubt, then you should not do it (because doubt means that you are no longer walking in faith). This is something that you will have to decide for yourself after praying about it and asking God for wisdom.

All Christian holidays originally started out as pagan holidays until the church made up new holidays in their place and gave them new Christian meanings. Many churches have a "fall festival" instead of Halloween, where children are encouraged to dress up as Bible characters, or anything else that they want as long as it is not something evil. Usually the theme of these fall festivals is cleaner than your traditional Halloween parties, and there is no emphasis on anything scary (and you can always have your own party at your house, and invite others from your church & neighborhood as an alternative to halloween).

I think it all depends on what you are celebrating.

Are you revelling in all the deomonic, or are you revelling in the fact that the demonic has no power over you?

And as far as harvest celebrations, why not? Harvest celebrations have been a tradition since the time of Abraham.

If you are concerned with the history of a holiday look it up. (although contrary to what some other have said, it's not going to be listed in the bible) All Hallows Eve, is traditionally the day before All Saints Day but there are also pagan hollidays around the same time. Similar things go for Christmas (or the Mass of Christ), Yule is a pagan holliday but, Christmas by it's name is Christian.

Jesus wasn't born in December. Christmas is celebrated on the day of a pagan holiday. They kept the day and practices and customs of the holiday, but when the Romans converted pagans into christians, they changed the meaning of the holiday to be the celebration of the birth of christ.

Halloween is also a pagan holiday. I know people who are hard core christian who don't celebrate it, and forbid their children from doing so.

as for the bible, it is filled with contradictions. It's fine for some people to use it as a uideline, but you have to do what you think is right. It's not like you would be celebrating halloween with the intention of worshipping demons. you do it because your kids like to dress up, go out with their friends, and eat candy.

Halloween, in accordance to my information won't be approximately evil creatures creeping, or celebrating evil (initially) It replaced right into a pagan banquet time as ultimate i will remember. And in case you rejoice Christmas your'e doing a similar subject so it is going to no longer remember. yet whilst celebrating Christmas and Halloween subject you as a Christian then it is quite useful to endure in strategies and start up conserving the 1st commandment which you in all probability do no longer shop the two. endure in strategies the Sabbath to maintain it holy. And the sabbath isn't sunday. Sunday is the pagan day of worship of the solar in Rome. i'm no longer a Christian, yet i attempt to help all persons who asks, and not choose. although some situations I slip. I recommend no injury. There is a link I want to provide you with:

This is written by a pastor and explains where all these weird myths about Halloween got started. Halloween is a good, fun holiday where you can dress up and just have a good time. True, some people pull pranks, but people pull pranks every day. People steal more at Christmas-time, did you know that? It's true.

Have a Happy Halloween!

Good question. I think that it is alright to participate in this holiday, but carefully. Be mindful of what you've read about this, and make the holiday secular. Don't dress up as demons, satan, witches, or anything related to that, because then you are engaging in a form of honouring this. But if you keep the holiday secular and just keep a clear head about what you're making the holiday about, it should be fine. For me, Halloween is simply about dressing up in costume, having fun, and candy.

read your bible a little more closely. The Halloween was originally a religious holiday and not a Satan or pagan holiday it is what you make of it. look on the Internet and search sites and you will see where religion takes part in the holiday and enjoy. If you don't want to participate in the pagan part don't where costumes associated with pagan rituals. But taking kids out to have fun or going out to have fun yourself there is nothing wrong with that.

I DO NOT suggest you take the bible with a grain of salt! The Bible is, obviously, bound to your faith and it would make me a fool as well as yourself should you question your belief system over a simple Holiday.
I am not Christian although I do believe that Jesus existed and that God is his father. I also believe that expecting you to except a Holiday that is as important to me as Christmas is to you would also make us both fools.
I can only tell you that in my research of our past I have found that the main celebration for Halloween is the celebration of the old bringing in the new. It is the near end of the year, the end of a season and the beginning of a new season.
I celebrate with the knowledge that God or the Gods have given me a life to be thankful for and past, present and future friends to be grateful for. The celebration of this holiday is to not invoke demons or celebrate them but to disavow them. They have no reign or control over me and to prove this I decorate in a fashion that proves my dislike of them and yet, because they exist, for most beliefs, a type of respect for them.
NOT, a respect that shows my allegiance, but the kind of respect that says "I know your there and I want nothing to do with you so leave me alone!"
You can not have the good with out the bad and your Bible shows you this. We have the bad in order to choose the good. We have the good, in order to stay the bad.
I was raised Catholic and Mormon and although we celebrated Halloween with both I did not truely celebrate this Holiday until I was older.
I don't believe in Satan or what ever you choose to call him, although, like I said, I do believe in evil! I Believe that God cast out a great angel and he has followers that attempt to sway us away from our hopes and dreams. However, to me, to believe in something that would cause me to turn away from light would pretty much defeat my purpose.
However, your faith has answered your question about 2 Cor. and you really don't need any of us to validate this for you.
To me, participating is being in league with. I could never be in league with anything that would cause harm or pain to another. I realize there are some who would say that I am already there but the only person who truley knows this, is, myself when I leave this world.
Good Luck and Blessed Be
