your sound card may not be installed or the volume could be turned off on the computer.

What computer is it? If Windows have you gone to the volume control options by the clock in the right hand bottom corner. Maybe its turned down or muted.
Also check your speakers are plugged in and switched on.

On the right hand bottom side of your screen where the time is click on the small arrow then click on the icon that looks like a speaker this will tell you if the sound has been turned off. if it hasn't then it must be your speakers.

check if you have the volume control displayed near the time.if yes then check the settings in your volume control.if no reinstall the sound card driver.one more thing.check whether you have selected mute option in any of the applications that are dependent on sound.check the volume nad power on your speakers.if thiis doesnt solve your problem contact your hardware vendor

Try the simple thing first.
Click once, (NOT double click) on the speaker icon in your taskbar..a single small volume slider bar should appear, make sure that the mute box does not have a tick in it.

press the start button and go to run. Type sndvol32 and press enter.
If its installed you will send the sound manager settings on your PC. make sure the master sound volume is not mute.

One of the wires could of become loose at the back of the pc?. I recommend you restart your pc. Also look at your control panels
