I'm curious about what I can do to save money for my children's college. What can my financial institution provide me with? CD's, seperate accounts that can earn interest. I don't know what else there is if there is any and I also don't know too much about how these sort of things work. If any one can give me some info, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I recommend real estate. You can start with investing in tax liens. You just need to find the auction in your local area and go pay the deliquent property tax. You will earn 10%-45% of your money back. Take that money and put it is a mutual fund for your children.

The best and effortless way to save for children college is to use
529 college savings plan. You can take tax deduction for the contribution. Well known mutual funds have it. I am mentioning
two big ones; Fidelity Investments, www.fidelity.com or 1-800-544-6666; Vanguard, www.vanguard.com(internet site has all information), and
you can get their 800 number calling 1-800-555-1212. For a list
of others , go to Goggle search and search for 529 college savings plan. You can have more than one plan. T.Rowe Price
also has a good plan.Call 1-800-555-1212 to get their 800 number.

you can refinance or take out a mortgage if you own a home. you can get cash out and put it in the bank and collect interest. plus lower your monthly payments and pay off debt. where do you live? i'm a mortgage broker in florida, but if you live in another state you can contact a local brokerage.
