My family and I are looking at moving to Cornwall next year and I'd be really grateful if you could let me know which area's are nice / which area's to avoid etc. I work from home so the job situation isn't a worry.

I look forward to hearing all about Cornwall - Thanks!

If you want a nice family life in cornwall DON'T go within 20 miles of Newquay. With all the tossers that come down here purely to get as pissed up as possible, newquay is now regarded by locals as the toilet of cornwall. The best places for shopping are Truro... excellent shops, cafe's amazing college etc housing is fairly cheap at around 190,000-225,000 for a 2-3 bed semi in a nice area. Plymouth is also fab for shopping... lots of designer shops, cafes etc and there are cinemas in truro and plymouth unlike newquay.

plymouth is more expensive at around 260,000 for a 3 bed. If you want to be further out in the country then mullion or looe and st ives are really pretty but not much to do if you have children so they may get bored a lot. lol.

hope some of that info helps. and sorry for the downer on newquay but i live just outside and theres only so much viewing of street sex and toileting you can take lol. the beaches are quite nice tho... when the emits aren't here!!

plymouth (though technically in devon) is a bit rough but graet for shopping.

You'll be fine so long as your children don't mind marrying each other.

They're not too keen on 'outsiders' moving in.
