I am not a homosexual, but I have several friends and relatives that are homosexual, both men and women.
I do not believe homosexuality is a choice.
And I frankly, think that the theory that it is a choice is ridiculous.
Why would someone choose a life of persecution, badgering, and hatred by others, to the point where some are murdered just because they are gay. They are referred to as freaks, or even pedophiles because they have a different sexual preference, it is absolutly false. Homosexuals are typically shunned by their own family members, and are constantly berated. Why would anyone choose this life. It's not a choice, I don't choose to be straight instead of gay and they don't choose to be gay instead of straight.

Nobody just wakes up and says "Oh, I'm going to be gay today." That's how I know. You don't decide to be straight, you just are. And no, it's not psychological trauma that causes homosexuality, as has been said in the past, because I know several homosexuals who weren't abused or raped or dissocialized by the opposite sex. The idea that homosexuality is a choice is about as sensible as saying that heterosexuality is a choice. Neither is chosen by the person in question. God Bless.

I think it depends on the individual, it's too complex to say whether it's just a choice or not.
There are likely MANY MANY contributing factors, just as there are many different types of gay people. Not everyone is fully gay, some are bisexual, some are trans, some just like to where women's cloths. I think this explanation covers all.
Some gays I believe were born like that, they may have a gene which predisposes them, and they also might have been exposed to different hormone levels which effected their brains while devoloping in the womb.
There is scientific evidence of this with monkeys. Pregnant Monkeys which were exposed to a shot of testosterone gave birth to femals which were VERY male characteristic behaviorally and even tried to have sex with same sex, the same happened with males who were exposed to lower testosterone and higher levels of estrogen, they exhibited female characteristics.
Though it sounds politically incorrect, I believe that with some males, it is psychological, they were molested, or raped when they were a boy and it altered how they developed sexually through puberty--
Puberty is when altering of sexual preference can happen, I believe. Some boys may have more sexual experience with other boys than with girls growing up-- and though this is common, some boys may be more effected. So though they have a genetic predisposition perhaps, it is a combination of sexual experience. This is why some are molested or have many experiments while young with other boys, or girls, they don't turn out gay, it depends on the person. This can explain the fact that the more brothers a boy has, the more likely one of them is to be gay.
It all comes down to Genes, the Womb, and Environment. -- Just as everything else.
I am not gay but I have some who are gay in my family.
And though I do believe what some have said that everything is a choice, every action, indeed IS a choice,
Your predispositions and desires remain the same though you don't act upon them,
There is a reason psychologically, socially, hormonally, genetically, which accounts for human behavior. Though wanting to have sex is an instict to procreate the race,
Homosexuality and the 'rainbow' of what you are "into" is all behavioral.

I don't know any gay people but I support gay rights. I don't believed that anybody would choose to be different because they felt like it. It doesn't make sense and there have been cases of gay people who live in the closet because they are afraid of what people might think, this isn't a way to live. I think that they were born that way and we should accept them becuase they didn't have a choice. No, I don't believe homosexuality is a choice.

Homosexuality is probably an extended form of sexual exploration as a young person. Can it turn into Love? Depending on what that person requires love to include. It's there personal preference, give them space. Yes I know those who are and love them as a human being.

Yes ofcourse it is a choice. Everyone at one time or another has thought about sex with there kind. It is weather or not you chose to act apon those thoughts when you are young. Most people do not as they know it is wrong and just a pubessent thought. it will pass unless you brood on it.
I have a cousin and a few friends that are homosexual.

Homosexuality or being attracted sexually to the same gender is a condition that is probably not a choice. However, actions pertaining to this orientation are performed strictly through choice. All actions require choice.

I think people are born gay. Yet, they choose to practice their homosexuality. I've known a gay or two. There's no way one can fake being that flaming.

Nope, I don't think they go around saying, today I choose men, tomorrow woman. Feelings are not something we can control, such as a person who's child is murdered, he cannot control his anger and grief. Neither can homosexuals control their passion, love and affection towards the same sex.
Yeah I know a few homosexuals. They be cool.

Not a choice. Nobody chooses who they're attracted to. It's born within the person....just like straight people can't choose to be sexually attracted to the same sex.
They just can't....because they're straight. It was born into them.
Straight people have absolutely no idea what it's like.
How can they even answer a question like this?
