Yes, but they are the older democrats who remember what the party used to be. They really don't connect their old party values to the socialist liberals who have hijacked their party today.

The Republican party pretty much drained all the conservatives and moderates out of the Democratic party. That evaporation effect has left a concentration of far left liberals in the party. The Bush effect on the Republican party may very well sent many ex-Democrats back to the party.

I suspect there are a few, but most people aren't aware of the overwhelming pressure exerted on moderate Democrats by their radical constituencies to move ever leftward. Nancy Pelosi makes new Dem Congressmen sign what amounts to a loyalty oath in order to get assigned to any important committees. Being out of power in Congress for 12 years has made them begin purging the old guard moderate Dems (ala Joe Lieberman) for more radical leftists which (ironically) will ensure they remain a minority party for a while longer.

I'm a democrat and I'm a moderate. There are things that I disagree with liberals (death penatly, gun control, drugs, and immigration). However, my beliefs are most represented in the democrats so I'm a democrat. Just because you belong to one particular party doesn't mean you are a liberal or conservative. There is always a middle ground.

I ran screaming from the Republican party when Bush came into office. He and his Christian Coalition backers are slowly destroying everything that was good about the Republican party. Say goodbye to your personal freedoms! Both parties are heading further to their opposing sides of the spectrum. Hopefully this will instigate the creation of a strong third party of moderates. I know I'm not the only one saddened by the state of partisan politics in America. Its a disgrace.

There may still be some democrats that aren't liberals. Up until 1994, the south voted conservative democrats into office. Then they finally realized that they should vote for conservative republicans to be in office instead.

Yes. One of my uncles. He's a moderate conservative Democrat. Of course, he thinks that the once-great Democratic party has been hijacked by the extreme far-left, and he's considering switching to the Republican party, after almost sixty years of being a Democrat (he's 75).

Only in local elections and rarely in state elections can you find a Dem who is not an ultra lib running for office. On the federal level, there was possibly one. You saw what they did to him.

Ashamed so many voting Democrats do not realize the their party left them for Lenin.

I haven't ran across any, but I imagine there are some very old people who still think being a Dem. is what it was 30 or 40 years ago.
