Just throw them in the garbage. Or quit smoking.

where i am from we use a holding tank then a leeching field.
I'd be more worried about the field after say 20 smokes a day times maybe 10 years or more

dump them on the street let them go to into storm drain the city will clean them for you :Þ
just kidding- put them in the trash then spray a deodorant

Absolutely. It's hard telling what's going on further down in the pipes. A bend from settling, tree roots, etc can cause a snag that may build a massive clog from your 1-2 ciggy butts each day. TP and Poo are the only "solids" you should be sending down that drain!

If you're on a septic system' it certainly will plug up the drain holes in the field pipes. The tobacco and paper will degrade, but the filters won't, and that's what causes the problems.

Septic System Yes. city sanitary sewer no.

that depends on your plumbing. remember, it takes alot less time for refuse to break down than it does a cigarette butt (1 or 2). If the butt gets caught in an elbow pipe, it could catch the next as well and take years for it to breka down and pass.

No, but you do have alternates for this, including going outside when you smoke, and making your own butt receptacle using a bucket and sand.

The toilet is not a trash can. Please do
not throw anything down that didn't come
from you. I work in a wastewater plant and
you wouldn't believe what we get down here.
It won't hurt your pipes, but it makes our
job alot harder. Get a butt can or throw in
trash. Thank you from your unseen, but
greatly needed and under appreciated
sewage workers.

The butts will swell up the size of your thumb and cause problems. I learned from expereince
