The United States of American will not destroy England - the context I'm referring to is physical damage by the way. This is because England poses no threat to the United States or at least during our lifetime and, safely, I can also say during that lifetime of our next generation. On the other hand, England might be destroyed culturally by the US.

The United States has shown no history of attacking free market democracies. Further there would no gain in such a move. The UK would have to be perceived a direct threat to American security or interests which has not been the case since the American Revolution. England recognized American independence in 1783 and we have enjoyed a long history of partnership in the intervening years. So I would say the answer is no there should be no fear of the United States destroying England or other members of the European Union.

Destroy in which way?
Militarily? You are our ally and we wouldn't want to take you over anyway. Even if the world went into starvation mode it's not like England is an agricultural giant.
Economically? The pound is still much stronger than the dollar, a fact of which became blazingly obvious when I visited last winter and had to pay double for everything.
Culturally? Um, you have enough foreigners changing your culture directly to worry about American influences.
However, on that note, I do have a question: I watched "About A Boy" a couple of days ago and the guy's dad wrote a song about Santa. Don't you call him Father Christmas anymore?

Yes you should. When I become president, I am running in the 2012 election, my first act is to declare war on England. I will start with an aerial bombardment the likes of which would make Hitler proud. Next, after the months of 500lb bombs have destroyed almost every building, and completely destroyed the will of the British people, I will invade with ground forces, and take control.

I can't wait. That is what you get for kicking my family out of England for being debtors.

Climate change and resource depletion caused by all nations, but the US in particular, will not destroy all of the "land" of England.

but it will make any english society very unstable.
How can the current English lifestyle be supported on reduced suitable land, when there can be no cheap imports because of expensive fuel costs and degredation of much of the arable land; when global trade has dismantled the indigenous sustainable infrastucture & capacity ...

In short it is not about one nation destroying another, but human greed & ignorance (possibly most evident in the US culture because they have the opportunity) making a healty & happy world unlikely for future (25 years hence) human civilisation.

No. Under the rules of NATO and of the UN any attack on England (I assume you mean the UK and not just England) would result in a military response from NATO. However, the point is moot as the US would have nothing to gain and everything to lose from this.

No, there is no reason to be worried about that. The US and England are allies and have been for a long time, and the chances of that changing are extremely rare. Both countries are modern, civilized nations governed by democracies. What you are suggesting is implausible and based on no real information, so no. Don't worry about something so unlikely.

There is no strategic, economic, or any other reason that the US would attack England.

This may change in 50 years when the radical muslims take over Parliament, but I doubt it. Hopefully, we'll all be involved in space exploration then.

Why would they want to do that? Just to please the Scots, Welsh, and Irish?
The UK is the biggest aircraft carrier the Yanks have sitting just off the coast of Europe and with the ability to strike anywhere at any time.
