I have about 20 pairs of embarrasing mistakes. The shoes are nice, but don't suit me. Has anyone tried to feel less guilty by selling them on e-bay before? is it a waste of time?

Hi, I'd have to say yes to that one, I have sold all kind of things on ebay from used makeup to cars, its always worth a go, there is always someone out there willing to buy anything, my rule is always start the price low, but charge enough on the posting so if you don't get a high bid for you item you are still going to make some money, but be careful, I lost out on some items when I first started on ebay as i didn't put enough down for postage and only got 1p for my item so I lost, but I soon learnt my lesson, good luck and I hope you make some money!!!!

Yes. BUT the key to ebay is brand name recognition. If they are not a brand name, they will be difficult to sell. People type in words like Nine West and Steve Madden, etc. more often then purple pumps. Also, they are assured quality versus a description from a faceless seller.

You could also sell all 20 in a small lot if you are feeling lazy and don't want to list each individually.

The ebay community boards will be very helpful getting you up and running. Check them out.

No, it's not a waste of time. The cost is minimal, you clean out your closet, someone gets shoes they want, and you get money in your PayPal account. Win-Win-Win.

Just remember to take digital pictures so the buyer can see what he/she's getting, and make your descriptions very accurate and honest about the condition and wear. It pays to look at successful sellers' terms and conditions, too. Anybody with a 95%+ rating has figured out the ebay auction system. Most ship by USPS Priority Mail and ship within the continental US.

Good luck and have fun!

It is worth it if the shoes are in good condition. If people like your shoes and they are of similar size they will return to you as a buyer. You also have to make the price worth it. Once they pay for the shoes and pay shipping are they paying what they would have paid in the store? If so they probably won't buy. People buy used stuff from others to GET A DEAL. If you just want to get rid of them remember that any sale price with help, right.

ABSOLUTELY!! probably best not to describe them as embarrasing mistakes though! I sold a pair of sandals that I'd worn a few times for £25 although I got them for 10 in the sale, the bidding went made. I thought they were hiddeous and uncomfortable.

Sell them, least you'll get some money back from it!! I've bought shoes from eBay loads of time for myself and the kids.

It's got to be better than selling a fart in a jar!! Yes people sell this on eBay!!!

Sometimes it's worth selling them as long as they're in good nick. However, take note of how heavy they are. If they're likely to cost a lot to post them, many buyers will be out off because it bumps the price right up.

Good luck.

I don't think there is anything wrong with selling used shoes on ebay or anywhere else as long as they are in good condition
