when i reinstalled windows with the operating system cd... not all the programs showed up again (the ones i know came with the computer in the first place)
the modem was not installed. nor the other programs such as mcafee, jasc, sonic recordnow, powerdvd...
did i do something wrong?? please let me know.. i am soooo frusterated

Your CD is only a Windows installation CD. Chances are that Dell, after having installed Windows, added the other software. Usually, vendors include the installation CD's for these software programs along with your computer. And don't expect to be able to reinstall any trial software. Good luck.
