Honestly No!! Cause well the work of a priest is really demanding especially if they are assigned to a Parish. Most don't stay in one place for long so they would always be moving for one. Might never be at home, It would be great for the priest yes but bad for not just the community but for the wife he would always have that trouble of which to put as first priority in his life. I Honestly think that marrage for a priest would just be a way to release all that sexual tension, but I've found that there are some forms of meditation that can do the same with-out using the sex drive. Although most seminaries hav not put them into practice. And we shouldn't judge all priest by the acts of a few!!! Cause look at all the news about the Christian Pastors caught up in rape and money laundrin scandels, since the catholic faith is just one in the whole world not a million different one's it get's more attention. Well God bless.

This idea of a celibate clergy came from the Jews, John the Baptist, Jesus, and the Apostle Paul.
The Jews. The Talmud argues that a person whose “soul is bound up with the Torah and is constantly occupied with it” may remain celibate (Maimonides, Laws of Marriage 15.3). For example, Yahweh ordered the prophet Jeremiah not to marry (Jeremiah 16:1-4). Moreover, the Essenes was a group that was active in Jesus’ time that practiced celibacy and thought by most scholars to be the authors of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
WWJD? What would Jesus do? Jesus did not marry.
John the Baptist and Jesus are both believed to have been celibate for their entire lives. Some scholars believe that the example of the Essenes influenced either or both Jesus and John the Baptist in their celibacy.
The Apostle Paul is explicit about his celibacy (see 1 Cor. 7). There is also evidence in the gospel of Matthew for the practice of celibacy among at least some early Christians, in the famous passage about becoming “eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 19:12).
The concept took many twists and turns over the years and will probably take a few more before Christ returns in glory.
With love in Christ.

I think that allowing priests to get married and have families is the only way that we are going to keep having priests at all. The amount of young men who want to become a priest is very small because they don't want to give up the chance to have a family.

The Catholic Priest has been given that choice before he entered Priesthood. He has chosen the celibate life, and the Sisters as well, have made their choice before entering their Order. What makes you think they sould now have to choose again? If They wish so they can leave the Priesthood, and get married.

Yes. The ban on marriage discourages heterosexuals from being priests and encourages gays and pedophiles. As a mater of church history Catholics claim St Peter to be the first Pope and he was married.

Yes, the basis on which they are not allowed to have a family is a very outdated notion from (I believe) Medieval Times. But it's not Medieval Times anymore and that idea needs to be re-considered.

Why not? I think it would help avoid further child molestations if they could legally have sex with another adult, on a regular basis, like the rest of the human population. Might help boost the Catholic faith's reputation right now, which is low, low, LOW...

Of course! The Bible says in Hebrews 13:4 "Marriage is HONOURABLE in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge" It is Biblical to be married. If they read their Bible they would know that it is ok to be married but not ok to molest children.
