Wearing black is definately not a bad thing. Your friends are clearly just taking the piss out of you as a joke. Get over it.
Being a 100% Goth on the otherhand is wquite bad - most people who are goths are massivly lonely and depressed.

Personally I think this is a question you shouldn't be asking. Never let someone label you. When somone says you're goth, prep, nerd or just out and out weird, they are labling you. When someone lables you they are putting you into a group with like individuals based on some characteristics you display. They are destroying your uniqueness. Tell your mom and friends "I'm not goth. I'm me. If you don't like it, then get out becuase you are not going to judge me."
Judgement is what causes so many problems in the world, like the use of the word 'gay' and 'jew / jewish'. Don't let it seep into your life. Don't accept being 'goth' be you.

No, absolutely not - "being Gothic" is about an entire lifestyle and set of beliefs about society and people in general, that happens to be expressed through physical accessories like clothes and make-up. People seem to think it's the clothes themselves that make someone "Goth", but it isn't.
Don't panic - just dress how you feel comfortable, wear whatever you look good in, and people will respond to THAT above all else.
Hope that helps. :)

wearing black does not make you a goth, nor is it a bad thing. my best mate is a Goth but she loves to wear Pink as its her fav colour. isnt being a goth more about the music you chose to listen to and showing your individuality. same as most other types of music lovers.

No, of course not. Liking black clothes doesn't make you gothic, wearing a cowboy hat doesn't make you a cowboy, eating Keebler cookies won't make you grow pointy ears and wear shoes with bells on them...geez, can't clothing just ever be clothing? Must everything be a statement nowadays? No, dear, you're just yourself; that's the best thing to be. If you'd like to learn more about gothic subculture and the like go to goth.net.

There is nothing wrong with wearing all black sometimes. I know some people who wear black all the time, and they don't really care! Bottom line: Wear whatever you want as long as you like to wear them.

No, wearing all black doesn't make you goth anymore than believing in aliens makes you a scientologist.
