Would it be fair if someone was not allowed to date someone because of their sense of style? How about if it was forbidden to be friends as well? A friend dated this one guy who was goth and three years older than her. Thats why im asking. Once again, the parents interfered

If a child is under the age according to the law in that particular state the parents have the right to make decisions regarding that child....I guess it's fair... At what age a child is old enough to make such decisions is debateable. Let's face it in the United States you are not considered a total free adult until 21 I think that a bit extreme but it is true You can have a family vote and fight in a war but don't touch an alcoholic beverage. I lived my youth in a much more free America. And I miss the America off my youth but it is a different country today and many still shout about its freedoms. So maybe I am wrong but none the less I would prefer the America of my youth.

Yes, it is fair for parents to guide & control the activities of their minor children...

I wouldn't be fair, because eveyone has there own style. Some just different from others.

parents arnt always wronge but they arnt always right either. my parents dont like who i am with but i am not going to let that stop me because i know that i will be safe with him. your friends parents should let her learn from her mistakes and let her live her life.
