Crude Oil is the source of many important products which are obtained in a process called fractional distillation. These products include refinery gas, petrol (used in cars), naphtha (medicines and household products), kerosene(aviation fuel), diesel oil (trucks and lorrys), lubricating oil (lubricant), fuel oil (ships), bitumen (tarring roads). This process is based on the boiling points of the different products and are separated out of a fractionating column based on their boiling points.
