Very touchy situation. I think throwing your friend a SMALL party, with just close friends might be a good thing. This might help them get there mind off of how bad there past birthday was. let them know that their friends would want to be remembered in a good light and would not want them to be depressed. Let them know that you will take care of everything and all they have to do is enjoy being around the friends that love them and care for them. hope this helps, what ever the turn out just know that your a good friend.

she's getting to the age when b-day parties are somewhat lame anyways but if you want to it is a good idea. just keep her mind occupied so she doesn't have to think about what happened let her have fun so she can realize that her life is not over and she has to live it and being sad all the time is no way to live.

the way i see it, that was a dramatic thing but she should still try and have a good time becouse well think like this. would her friends want her to have fun or have a missrable time missing them? that is the advice one of my friends gave me and now i am giving it to you.

I wouldn't throw a party the memories are still to fresh. You can be with your friend and talk to her,
