my grandmother is adament that there is a law stating such, but my boss hasn't heard of it. I'm curiours. Is it a federal law? She says it is, i'm guessing maybe it was her company policy?

Yes.It is a Federal law,That an employer has to give you your last pay.On the next pay date,not necessarily in 72 hrs.And it's against the law for an employer to hold your pay check past that date.of the next pay date.

I believe the law states that IF YOU REQUEST IT, they must give you your check within 72 hours. And, they cannot hold it for any reason, except you owing back money for uniforms, advances, etc. Otherwise, it will be paid at the normal pay period.

Not that I've heard of. You get your check along with everyone else who still works there. Maybe even a day or two later because they will probably mail it. Depends on if you're allowed back in the building or not.

Call you local state employment / unemployment office..

Not federal and not in Texas....you get your check on the normal pay period, minus any money you owe the company.....

No, that is not a law, at least not in Missouri, Tennessee or Louisiana.
