You bought something that is needed for general maintenance for her BIRTHDAY. She probably feels like you didn't care enough to buy her something that she could enjoy, and passing off a needed repair for a present probably insulted her and made her feel as if that's all you feel she is good for. I love the yard as much as any girl, but I don't want yard tools for my birthday. A birthday should be a time to say how much you love and appreciate her and are glad to have another year with her, and make it special for her, not a hint to get back out in the yard and get to work. You need to send her flowers and a card and a gift certificate for a massage or something and apologize for being so insensitive and tell her you love her. She's sending you a BIG message here. Think about it, would you want HER to give YOU an all day trip to the mall to watch HER shop ? Would that feel like a gift to you ? In a nutshell, her feelings are hurt !

Why the hell would you do that!?! a blade 4 the lawn mower, come on now, are you honestly telling me you don't see anything wrong with that? and if those are the kind of presents you have been giveing her year afer year, then firstly i'm sorry to say this but i am an honest person. you are an inconciderate, selfish **** and secondly no wander she left you, if you want her back howz about useing some common sense! you have some serious but lickin to do!

As much as I would hate receiving a new lawn mower blade for a birthday gift, I would loathe being referred to as "the wife" even more! I suppose it is one step up from "my ole lady", but that is the best I can say for THAT term of endearment!

Oh come on man, she had been dropping hints for months.......everytime she saw that John Deere Deluxe Riding Mower commercial on TV. How insensitive and absent-minded can you be. You should go right now and get the baddest kick-*** riding lawn mower on the market......she'll come back to you in a flash! Trust me!
Best of Luck!

Because you should never get your wife gardening tools or things like that for her BIRTHDAY!! Things like Lingerie and Spa Braks are birthday gifts, not mower parts. I think she left you because she thinks you don't know her well enough to know what she would want from her birthday, she is your wife and you are supposed to know her really well. Ask yourself, did she really want a mower blade?!

Man what would you think if she got you something like a pipe wrench for the leaky faucet on your birthday .It would have been better to get nothing.Just like you many of us guys find it fun to be a pain in the butt I understand that it was most likely a joke but gee what bad timing .Perhaps if you really care try something like a blanket on the beach watching a sunset after taking her out to her favorite place to eat .And yes I know this message says Jennifer sent it but she's my best friend+sweetheart and I was lucky enough to be able to call her my wife! I guess what I'm trying to say is if you love her anymore an apology is needed for you being such an azzhole.

you sound like my hubby...lmaolmao...i get things like a grille for my truck, vacuum cleaner, runner rugs..never anything that can be referred to as special...maybe you should have gotten her a necklace, day at a spa, gift certificate to her favorite store or something she would have loved or maybe her just leaving has been a long time coming
my hubby is terrible at shopping for me but i just let it go and accept him as he is because not all men are good at shopping for their wife
also mowing is not just a man's job...around here i am in charge of mowing and if hubby mow's without my "permission" i get mad...this is because he tends to mow all my hard work down (flowers i am trying to establish)
if your wife didnt get what she wanted she should have talked to you to explain that was not a very feminine gift to receive and told you what she would deem appropriate in the future
leaving over a mower blade to me is indication there were more problems than the gift
if i left my hubby over some of the items he has given me we would never have gotten married...it comes from the heart and that is what should matter

Because she could have done with the blade back in the spring time and not now when the lawns wont need cut much more. Quite impractical of you.
Can't blame her. Anyone who refers to their wife as 'the wife' instead of 'my wife' is obviously a low life scumbag!

It may not be the present she was expecting!
If you love her, buy her a bunch of flowers, agree to use the mower in future, and say sorry!
We all make mistakes.
