It could be, if one uses patriotism in a fanatical way, trying to prove ones superiority over others. Hitler used this big time.

I believe I can be patriotic and still embrace diversity...
As Americans we have much to be thankful and proud of....
Who do other countries in trouble run to in their greatest times of need? We are always willing to come to the aid of others..
I'm proud to be an American and look at it as a blessing and not a competition with anyone or anything....
Who cannot look a soldier in the eyes and not feel your heart warm with pride, even if it's not your own flesh and blood?

I don't agree since patriotism is more a selection of a preferred country while prejudice is the rejection of something.

No, I don't feel that it's a form of prejudice, I think it's just showing respect for something you believe in. Prejudice is intolerance, you can be proud of where you live & still have empathy for others.

"Prejudice" meaning I prefer people of my country over other countries, I guess so.
However, patriotism involves adherence to a shared history, culture, customs, etc., of a nation and is, in my opinion, a desirable trait in moderation.
