Domestic Airlines:
Govt issued id
Ticket(if it's not an e-ticket)

International Airlines:
Passport
Ticket(if it's not an e-ticket)
Valid visa for the destination country in case you need one

For domestic airlines you only need a picture ID. However, for international airlines at this current time, you need a birth certificate or passport/visa as well as a picture ID. Starting 1/1/07 you will need a passport for most countries visited. A birth certificate will no longer be accepted. Mexico and Canada are exceptions.

Driver's license with photo of oneselve for domestic travel; passport for international travel. May use passport for both.
