as someone who interviews people frequently - you always make the best impression if dressed similarly to people who are already working there - and just a tiny bit better for the interview
if they are in suits - try to match it if you can
if they are in casual wear - smart casual is the go

Unless you're applying to the fashion industry or even some of the entertainment industry, where almost anything goes, it's a good idea to go more conservative than flamboyant on an interview. For women a nice business suit , pants or skirts, not too fussy or low cut blouse, not too much make up or perfume. Forget the dangly earrings. And forget the impossibly high heels, might look good on the Sex in the City ladies but they're unrealistic in most business offices.

For the guys a nice well fitting suit or sports jacket , suit and tie or at least a nicely fitted shirt and vest. No polo shirts or sandals without sox or rumpled khakis and or jeans.

Think of how the men from the Apprentice dress while they're in the boardroom with the Donald. You want a business look, not a day at the beach. Watch the cologne, shave , wear deorderant.

Don't just wear whatever you want, and don't 'dress up' -- it looks wrong. Dress as if you have the job already. Think of the role and the title, and dress accordingly. If it's an interview to be a shop assistant at a clothing shop, wear the clothes from that shop or something very much like it. If it's for a job as a receptionist, wear something close to what is worn by the receptionists on duty. If it's for a job as a design studio artworker, likewise dress as a trendy young designer. It goes a long way into making the interviewer 'see' you in that job!

You will never fail with the old classic black pants, nice top and jacket... I prefer the jacket being of a different color than black... low comfortable heels... three pieces seem to show that your are put together... both in appearance and in skills... 3 pieces could also be swearter with blouse underneath... for a more cause look... khaki pants with loaferes and a turtle neck and vest... also you need to consider the weather... I don't know your climate... another thought would be to go in prior to and see what other potential co-workers are wearing... go just a step above them in your style... "dress for sucess" is what they say... employers wants some that will represent there company well...
hope this helps!!!

hi! you should wear something confty. that's the main thing. one time went to an interview with a realy nice shirt. it was kind of tight but i prefered looking nice than being comfty. when i was in the interview a button pooped near my chest area and i had to hold it up during the whole interview. so just wear something nice and something that you feel comfortable in. good luck

For my current job interview - I wore a white pinstripe trouser suit with black high heeled boots and a black kinda fitted shirt. Even though you should not be slutty going to an interview - you gota keep it feminine! xx
