Make sure that your kitchen is clean with no dishes in the sink. They usually want the water. Get a small bowl and put some water and dish soap in it. At night put it under a small night light in the kitchen near the stove or sink. They will be attracted to the light and want the water,. The soapy water will kill them when they land. Also, when you get your fruit wash it before you put it away. Including baked potatoes. Especially bananas, the flies like to lay their eggs on the banana skin. It is microscopic so you can't see them. Washing works really good. I always do it when I get home with new food from the grocery. Good Luck.

This works, I used this formula this year to get rid of them/
2oz of cider vinegar in a small glass with two drops of dishwashing soap, I put several glasses of this mixture out and I no longer have the fruit flies, wait a couple of days and look thru the bottom of the glass and you will see the dead fruit flies! Leave the glasses set out until you no longer see the fruit flies.
Small juice glasses or baby food jars work well.

Vinegar and water and a drop of dish soap will drown them. Some of this would be good to put under the lights. They sound like gnats. The traps will work for fruit flies too. A 1/2 oz. of a drink with sugar in it in a bottle that is laying on its side will trap them. The sugar coats their wings and they can not fly. An inch of beer in a long neck bottle will drown them. They are laying eggs some where. When the eggs hatch, they will go to the traps. If the source is found, they can be killed. They lay eggs in plant soil.

Put a small cup or jar out near where they hang out filled halfway with apple cider vinegar into which you have stirred 2-3 drops of dishwashing liquid. They will be attracted to the apple cider vinegar & get trapped by the soap & drown. Within a few days to a week, they will all be gone!
