My difinition is this Evil is an emotion of action at anger or hate of something that you depending on what it is want to do harm to it or destroy what ever it or the person maybe.

Evil is spawed from many things such as killing of a child, parent or girlfriend/boyfriend. Evil can be saying such harsh words to people that they are hurt by the remark.

Evil can be you just thinking about doing harm to someone. Evil is in the minds of men. It has been in the world since time began and as it looks it will not leave that quickly. Everyday we live amongst evil people in the world but you don't really know it till it is too late. Evil is not easily singled out some are really good at hiding this type of emotion but if your eyes are open you will see it and you will avoid it alltogether.

The definition of evil is not static. It is fluid and varies between cultural groups and periods of time.

Typically, we define "evil" in retrospect ive terms once the result of the action has been perceived as "destructive", "bad" "devoid of concious"...to name but a few descriptions of evil.

We don't agree on a universal concept of evil. In almost all societies murder is deemed to be "evil" yet in the same or other societies state sanctioned murder thru capital punishment, military force etc is not considered evil. So again, the definition varies to accomodate situations where an act that is perceived as evil is "accepted to be good". And you can go down the line with many activities that we now legilsate agst..rape, pedophilia.....some societies still force their women into marriage (is this not a form of rape if the union is not consensual?) others allow for child brides etc........

In short, what we consider acceptable toady may be evil tomorrow...there is no absolute truth and all acts have the potential to be evil as society evolves.

In my opinion, yes...the concept of evil (and its polarity, good) are creations of the mind. I would define evil as a condition which is perceived as threatening or destructive of life and/or the values we consider important.

Thus, this amounts to describing evil as that which one does not like with the projected assumption that the condition causing our dislike in is the object rather than the subjective judgmental self. we know that the extent to which the dislike is shared or may even be almost a universal concept. The conventional or universal opinion tends to convince the individual that evil is an actual quality of the item, or person, or condition that is disliked. Thus, if I do not like something, or I fear it, or it stimulates a strong aversion in my mind... I will tend to label the disliked thing as evil or bad... and if I like it I call it good. All polarities are a product of the human mind and originate from the Ego.

Evil refers to the "bad" aspects of the behaviour and reasoning of human beings —those which are deliberately void of conscience, and show a wanton desire for destruction. Evil is sometimes defined as the absence of a good which could and should be present; the absence of which is a void in what should be. In most cultures, the word is used to describe acts, thoughts, and ideas which are thought to (either directly or causally) bring about affliction and death —the opposite of goodness, which itself refers to aspects which are life-affirming, peaceful, and constructive. Aspects gererally regarded as "Evil" are thought of as immoral, corrupt, corrupting, inhumane, and wicked. .

For me that statement is true, evil is the product of a selfish mind.
If I cannot see the truth of my limited existence, I will be assertive and pursue what I want to strengthen my self (selfishness) no matter what the result be. My doings will destroy everything around me.
My selfishness qualities are greedy, deceiver, angry, destroy whoever thwarts my desires.
Our destructive thinking(evil) destroy the world and you can see it now how this psychological divisions destroy everything.
We are the ones doing this horrible destruction, don't blame anybody else, this is the product of our stupid mind.

YES,IT is mans concepts of mind that divide Gods unconditional love, "good", into the duality of good/ evil,in/out,up/down and postive/negative,etc. and divides the emotions into conditional love/hate. Evil is darkness,it disappears when the light of unconditional love appears. Jesus did not oppose satan,he commanded him "get thee behind me". It is ones lower nature, always look ahead and up to GOD,you will never again see evil. LOVE

Evil only exists within a moral context. If the context is the sole domain of man, then "Yes".

My co-worker is the devil. She clubs baby-seals after watching CNN news, she's the reason G.W. Bush won his first election as well, so that is pure evil.
