Nope! Anytime you have unprotected sex there's a chance for conception, that's why they have birth control methods. Every woman's cycle is different, jut becuase the norm is ovulation 14 days after the first day of her period doesn't mean that's what she does. If you want a baby, sure, get off inside her, but if you don't, try birth control measures.

Not exactly. IF a woman is very regular and has a standard 28 day period (day 1 is the day her period starts), THEN she most likely ovulates on the 14th day and is most likely to get pregnant within 3 days of either side of that day.
BUTTTTTT Keep in mind that not all women are that regular, and even regular women can ovulate at odds times including during their period (not that common but does happen).
Also, sperm can live in the woman for 3 days, so you'd have to add 3 more days to either end of the "safe" period,
So that does put you at about the 7 days you suggest.
However given the unreliability of this method (which the Catholic Church as used for centuries, which has resulted in most Catholics who are diligent have large families), I would NOT count on it if you truly do not want to make a baby.
I have a son that is the direct result of the rhythm method.

No. There is no safe time to have unprotected sex. Some women even ovulate DURING their menstruation!! It is assumed that 'most' women ovulate 14 days after their menstruation but it's not fact.

We used the Rhythm Method for over 20 years and only had a problem one time. It did not result in a baby, but there could have been one if it had been viable.
The Rhythm Method, also known as the Calendar Method or the Knaus-Ogino Method (named after Hermann Knaus and Kyusaku Ogino), is a method of natural birth control that involves counting days of a woman's menstrual cycle in order to achieve or avoid pregnancy.
A recently developed variant of the Rhythm Method is known as the Standard Days Method. Read more at the link below.

Nothing is fool proof. But, there is a "method" of birth control used by the Catholic religion today known as the "Rythym Method" Its a combonation of calculating the days of the mentrual cycle, and logging ovulation cramping, etc. I would not suggest it though, as its complicated, requires alot of logging on her part, and is about 60% accurate, leaving a 40% chance of pregnancy. I'd suggest birth control pills. My husband and I use them, and have not used condoms in 5 years. Very effective, and I dont need to stress over if I'm pregnant or not.

There is no time when sex cannot potentially cause pregnancy. Though 14 days after the start of a period is the most fertile time, ovulation can occur at ANY time. Even contraceptive use isn't a 100% guarantee.

Nope it's not true like the other answer said, women ovulate at different times each month, you would be playing russian roulette. Wear a condom and ask her to go on the pill!
