there are more shy people than strong historical figures. its the fact that they were not the norm that makes them stand out. do you have any idea how many white people go throughout their lives never doing anything like george washington or Lewis & Clark or whatever other person you can insert into that list? does that make them less? no, it just makes them normal. if every black guy out there was like malcolm x, i think in the long run it would make malcolm x less than who he truely is. you need to do for you, and make your life what it is, not everyone is supposed to change the world, just themselves.

I somewhat agree with you. Black males have the reputations for being, I guess, bulls. It's sad but true. However I don't think that any figures, historical or other wise would have the right to look down upon you. History is subjective. Moses, a Hebrew but from the middle east (not white), was more of a shy individual. You seem to be caught in the Americanization of the world. And even the black males you speak of weren't completely black, meaning bread totally from African slaves.
Personally, I've had many issues with the overly aggressive behavior of the modern black male. I find it problematic, even ignorant. Nothing in my evolution or breeding has compelled me to accept being "holla'ed at". And now over the years I've gone from an interest in white men to a complete preference. Not to be offensive, I would prefer not to create a legacy that has that behavior in it.

Hi there. I looked at your other questions and I think you are a tad hung up on being shy. You are a grown man, a college student, educating yourself and reaching out to others such as socializing with your friends as your profile says.
We are all shy with some people and at some times. Appreciate yourself and give credit where it is due. Put the down side of things on the back burner or get rid of them altogether.
Life is too short and every single person on the planet is loved by someone and contributes the value of others' lives!

To all people who only brush off what the extremist Islamic leaders say: bear in mind, Hitler became pushed aside on the beginning up besides. EDIT M.D. you're good; interior the united kingdom some factors are actually 'no pass' for any non Muslims. And Sharia regulation is getting used to settle disputes. One financial organization has even presented a definite 'Muslim loan' that complies with Sharia regulation on the subject be counted of interest etc.

I disagree. However, we as African Americans sometimes feel that unless we fit into some box that we are not "owning" our blackness. It's both sad and ridiculous that we as a people have come so far, but not far enough to have accepted ourselves as whole people. We have such a hard time accepting each other, and thus accepting ourselves. I don't think that our historical figures would look down on you as being weak if you are a man who stands for something, and believes in himself. Someone who is honoring his race by being a good citizen, and not playing into the negative stereotypes that we ourselves create. Good luck.

Shyness is shyness it has no colour. We all been there, just work at it keep throwing yourself into situations with women. Chat to the secretary, people in finance, HR, is good for networking anyway. Try doing speed or online dating, the latter helped me.
Malcom X and Huey Newton both were killed by other African Americans so dont sweat it.

Historical figures are dead - they cannot look down on anyone any more!
You have to live your life for yourself - Stop worrying about what other people think of you.
Be strong, and good luck!

Your colour has nothing to do with it. Society punishes shy people no matter what race, colour or creed they are. Shy people don't get the big promotion or the girl they desire. It's the tough, confident guys who get that. That old saying is true: "Nice guys finish last."

Don't compare yourself to everybody else. Look in the inside, remember what makes you unique. No one can take that away from you. If you haven't already, go get yourself an education, that's the best thing you can ever have. knowledge is power and no one can ever take that away from you
