I have a male friend who has a nvq level 1 in car mechanics, and now wishes to pursue this kind of career, but he was wondering who offers car mechanic apprenticeships in or around Catterick Garrison/Richmond, North Yorkshire? If he did it by apprenticeship he could learn whilst working. Any ideas?

Those big green trucks you see around the garrison offer one of the best apprenticeships going.

Tell him to get in touch with the Skills Solutions/Connexions in the area or at his college (or ex. college). Jobcentre can give him info on it as well. A lot of the goverment organistions have info on who's recruiting in the area and are really good to chat to. Failing that, get out the Yellow Pages and ring round garages etc. Worked for me :-)
