Everyone seems focused on your ability to conceive, whereas I'm going to approach this from a different angle. For the sake of argument, let's say that you become pregnant next month; you'll be approximately 45-years-old when the baby is born. By the time that child starts school, you'll be 50, and when it graduates from uny you'll be nearly 65. In other words, you'll be on the cusp of being an OAP (old age pensioner). Yes, I know that we're living longer, we're more healthy than the previous generation, but will your child always be the odd one out at school with classmates referring to the child's parents as oldies? Will people you meet on the street forever be asking if you're the child's grandparent?
I suppose the answer is that they very well might, so you have to ask yourself how that will effect not only you but also your child. If you're prepared for that, and your child is too, then I'd say you should follow your heart and disregard sceptics like myself.

No you are not to old to have a child at 44, as long as your periods are still regular. But there are more risks that something can go wrong with you or the baby. Take folic acid this will help to decrease the possibility of birth defects. Take go care of yourself and eat properly 5 portions of fruit & veg and not to much red meat. If you smoke stop now before trying to conceive. Good luck

it is, yet relies upon completely upon the man situations. I had a baby at 30, then in basic terms did not ever get pregnant back. you in basic terms ought to face the reality that it does make a distinction that your eggs are older - I not in any respect idea it replaced into honest that adult males rejuvenate sperm! As with each and every thing, there ought to be a decrease-off for age someplace... and also you having gotten your era on the age you probably did isn't unusual, so it doesn't impression your growing older. in the previous few years I somewhat have had 3 older acquaintances who had children - 2 at 40, one at 40-one. one which is 40 had her fifth baby, who has an eye fixed subject; the 40-12 months old had her sixth, and is thoroughly healthful; the different 40 year old had her seventh, and he's a Down's infant. in basic terms communicate consisting of your gynecologist and kinfolk healthcare professional, get each and every of the archives you are able to. It also concerns what your husband is as a lot as - that would want to impression both the fertility and the health of the child besides. i imagine the 'caution' for over 35s is in basic terms there - because it is what it is, and also you're taking the archives because it pertains for your human being certain case, medical historic previous, how lengthy you've been on birth control, and so on. any such enormous volume of issues can impression getting pregnant, and also the health of the child. This all suggested - infant airborne dirt and mud coming your way :)

If you are still having a regular cycle then you should be able to have children, however the older you get the more risk is involved. You should see your GP who can prepare you for this, things like taking plenty of Folic Acid before you fall pregnant and what minerals and Vitamins you should be concentrating on. If you smoke, stop before you conceive and no alcohol. It is a real wrench on the human body at the best of times, with a healthy, young woman. The rigours will be even worse the older you get. But yes you should be able to bear a child, but go see your doctor first. good luck.

Im not in your position but I have just donated eggs to a friend who is your age (Im 33) she is unable to make her own good quality eggs (always has had trouble with this) I believe if you have had a child before and your cycles are still the same then you should in theory be able to conceive again - the only thing I do know of is that your at an age that has a much higher risk of having a downs syndrome baby.
Good luck and heaps of baby dust your way!

Only you can answer this question for yourself! You know the risks! 38 was risky, 44 is even more risky! If you want another child that badly, I hope you're willing to accept the fact that he/she may be born with down syndrome or any number of other defects. Just be sure about your decision, then do what's best for you and your mate. Good luck with whatever you decide!

As long as you are healthy I would think you would be okay. Just keep in mind that you have a much higher risk of having a child with a birth defect. Be sure to weigh all the pros and cons with your doctor.

as long as you are healthy I don't see why not but just know that the risk of a healthy baby can diminish with your age
eg downs syndrome, multiple births , birth defects... have a check up with the Dr before you get pregnant and tell him your plans...
